In the realm of technical skills, a UX designer has to understand basic computer programming principles, technologies, and tools, database principles, and a deep understanding of software and hardware development processes (coding, specification, testing). In addition, technical skills include the knowledge of new technologies and constraints, and hardware device knowledge including knowledge of manufacturing and mechanical engineering.

6. Vision. Articulating a vision to the team is the most important thing a strategic UX designer can do to encourage people to do their absolute best work. UX designers must have the ability without over complicating anything, to describe a future idea for a product/service and be able to motivate the team behind this shared vision.
